CONSERVATION

The team and it's commitment to Conservation

Having been involved with Black Rhino conservation in the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park, Frank Carlisle, a director and co-founder of Bhejane 4x4 Adventures, has recognised the need for the company to commit to a project that benefits Black Rhino "BHEJANE" conservation throughout Southern Africa.

The Black Rhino represents one of Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park's greatest success stories, having been brought back from the brink of extinction. Through sound conservation practices, black rhino numbers in the park have increased to the extent that they are able to serve as a pool to stock areas in Southern Africa where they previously occurred. "Bhejane" is the Zulu name for Black Rhino and its success story is the inspiration behind Bhejane 4x4 Adventures.

Bhejane 4x4 Adventures has established formal links with the Wildlands Conservation Trust. The Wildlands Conservation Trust was established in 1998 to support and encourage the conservation of biodiversity, especially in Kwazulu-Natal and to promote South Africa's finest asset, its wildlife.

Working in partnership with the Wildlands Conservation Trust, Bhejane 4x4 Adventures is committed to supporting the conservation of these magnificent animals. A percentage of revenue originating from each 4x4 trail will be donated to the Trust’s black rhino projects, specifically to support the monitoring and protection of the KwaZulu-Natal populations of this seriously threatened species.
