TOURS & DAY TRIPS

Central Kalahari & Mabuasehube/Kgalagadi Trans Frontier Park
6 February to 15 February 2010
19 February to 28 February 2010

9 night / 10 day adventure (tented accommodation)
Cost: R 9,650 per person (children under 10 @ 50%)

Join us on "The Highwayman's Adventure Route" on deep sand tracks through the vast expanse of Southern Africa’s largest conservation area. The Central Kalahari Park is the largest in Southern Africa, twice the size of the Kruger National Park, it boasts a number of unique endemic species of fauna and flora.

Starting at Khama Rhino Sanctuary in the north, we wind our way through the parks, camping "rough" in the bush, to where the adventure ends in Nossop.

Towards the end of summer, presuming reasonable rains have fallen in the area, the Kgalagadi is noted for its large number of resident eagles, such as the Martial, Tawny, Black Breasted, Snake and Bateleur. These are joined in February and March by the migrant raptors, the Booted Eagle and Steppe Buzzard, and the rare Lesser Spotted Eagle. We hope to be there when the numbers of eagles will be at their highest. However, we must not forget all the other wildlife we expect to see in the harsh but magnificent Kgalagadi Trans-frontier.

A world of infinite horizons, dramatic desertscapes and a diverse wonder of unique Namib Desert fauna & flora. Do you believe that travel should be so much more than just looking – and that every journey should be a life enriching experience? Do you yearn to go off-the-beaten-track and experience unspoilt nature? If your answer is YES, then you MUST experience the Namib Desert!

The Namib Desert is a unique part of Southern Africa, which on first impression looks dangerous and devoid of any life.  This impression however, is very deceiving, as the Namib is full of surprises with a rich treasure of discovery for those fascinated by its unique beauty and to safely traverse these mighty dunes is a truly humbling experience.

Reported to be the oldest desert on earth, the Namib is approximately 80 million years old.  Completely devoid of surface water, it is bisected by several dry riverbeds and is characterised by extensive, undulating dunes.

South Africa's premier game reserve KNP has in recent years become extensively larger as its boundaries shift into transfrontier parks and conservation areas in the form of conservancies .

Three of these areas are exclusive due to their 4x4 access only.
